Description
Watercolour and Gouache paint.
This is a still life that I did as a homage to peppermint tea mornings with a dollop of honey. I loved the morning sunlight on my kitchen counter with the teapot and teacup and reflections on the hexagon tiles.
I did run out of time with this one and wished I had explored the leaves and texture of the teapot a little more but also was fairly happy with the painting as there is a wiggly little part of my brain that tells me that if I had pushed it further I would have overworked it which would have been devastating. The honey was supplied by my Dad who is a beekeeper, the plant was a gift from my friend Henriette. The bees were the only imaginary addition.
I do not have a high resolution version of this painting as I did not have time to get it scanned. Only the original is for sale at this point, in the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2025 exhibition.
