Mount Fuji & Cherry Blossoms
Pen drawing on Stonehenge 300gsm paper, 841x1189mm
This was a very large commissioned drawing, at the time the largest I'd ever worked on with pen and ink on paper. I used a few different pinks for the flowers and for the grey and black areas, 0.1 finetip black pens. I lost count of how many pens I used... and the drawing had it's own ideas of what it wanted to be, it was a real challenge trying to wrestle it from the brink of chaos. Each flower wanted to be different! I loved the finished work, not just because of how she looked but because she was sooo difficult to do.
A commissioned original piece of this size costs approximately $1200 unframed.
