Fast flow acrylic paint on large 152cmx122cm canvas

This was a challenging painting using a combination of fast flow and brush techniques to represent a familiar landscape. I worked from several different photographs and used many layers of paint to create the feeling of the beach at Monavale without being too specific to any particular photo. I also spent several days at the location just getting a sense of the place and doing a few preliminary sketches on site before returning to start the painting in the studio.
