Resting Mermaid

This was a commissioned after a client saw my Mermaid painting at the Easter Show and discovered it had already been bought.

I created this version in a very similar way, with a pour of high flow acrylic paint and pouring medium for the water. I then painted into it to increase the realism.

The client offered to pose for the meremaid and I painted her into foreground once the water had dried, along with the rocks and shallow water. I used irridescent paint for her scales and hair, along with gold acrylic, which gave a pleasing shimmer in changing light.
