This little Splendid Fairy Wren was created from a combination of sources and a large amount of imagination. The bug is loosely based on a flying termite but could be anything really. I thought it just needed to look tasty to a little wren looking for dinner. It started as a small study and then expanded to the whole page as I enjoyed it so much. I kept the colours simple with only a little accent blue on the wrens eye, with warm beak colours and some soft browns on the feathers.
